Pixel 3a and 3a XL Top 4 Features

Google’s Pixel 3a and 3a XL where announce on Google IO 2019 and so far it’s receiving mostly positive reviews. Why is that? Well, we are going to dive deeper into the 3a’s main selling point but first, a little back story.

In September 2018, Apple announce its budget-friendly iPhone, called the iPhone XR. A few months later, the iPhone XR went ahead to be a huge success for Apple. Making significantly more sales than the iPhone Xs and Xs Max. Another few months later, it was Samsung’s turn with a budget phone with the Galaxy 10e, then now we have the Pixel 3a and 3a XL. So why are smartphone manufacturers suddenly interested in producing – budget – phones? because a vast majority of users usually refereed to as – average consumers – just want the latest Smartphone that works without paying attention to specs or features.

So with that in mind, let’s go ahead and talk about why we think the brand new 3a and 3a XL from Google will be such a great success due to this 4 features

1. Pixel 3a and 3a XL build quality.

Sure we know if you are talking about Google’s Pixels lineup then their Camera should be their focus but let’s just save the best for last and talk about design quality first.

The 3a and 3a XL have a premium build to it. As long as you are taking their price tag into consideration of course (more on price in a bit). Comparing the 3a next to it’s more premium Pixel 3 will make you appreciate it’s designed.

Just by looking at it, it will be a tough guess to know which is which. The back of the 3a and 3a XL is made of plastic though, as opposed to the glass found on Google’s Pixel 3 – flagship –

If you hated the deep – notch – on the Pixel 3 XL then you might prefer the 3a XL design. Sure it has a big – chin – and – forehead – but at least the is no annoying notch interfering in your display.

If that’s not enough to impress you, then maybe now is the right time for us to mention that the 3a and 3a XL both have an Oled display. Which is rare to find on mid-range smartphones.

2. Software

Well, this is a bit tricky to write about. This is because Google now has a lot of small software solutions that would make your life easier. Some of these solutions are exclusive to Pixels devices, while others have made their way to other Android smartphones. In the next paragraph, we will take a quick glance at a few of this Google inventions.

If you get the Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL then you get this following features out of the box. Google Duplex will make your appointment or do a booking for you with Google Assistant. All you have to do is to tell your Google assistant to do so. You will also have unlimited storage to save high-quality pictures and Videos with Google photos. Google’s software has many features that are highly under-rated if you ask my humble opinion. Let’s jump into the next feature in our list which also happens to be about Software

3. Software Update

Now, if you are an iPhone user, then you probably won’t see any sense in this as Apple usually give their smartphones sometimes up to 5 years of support or more. Android users, however, know that three years of fast software update is a luxury. With Android Q just around the corner, there is a lot to be excited for if you get the Pixel 3a (XL) now.

4. Pixel 3a Price

With many mid-range smartphones launching each day, it’s difficult to make a choice. The Pocophone F1 made its appearance in August last year with killer specs and with an unbelievable low price of about $300. We have the more popular Oneplus series with price of about $500 nowadays. Then we have the pixel 3a. Starting at $399, the Pixel 3a is a steal considering what it has to offer. Excellent Camara, colorful display, good build body etc all come together to make the 3a price tag to be it’s the most appealing feature. Hold on, before jumping into conclusions, let us take a look at The 3a’s Camara

4. Camara

In October 2016, Google launch it’s first Pixel device, Google Pixel. A few months later, those devices were generally accepted as the best smartphone Camara money could buy.

Each year, Google has continued the trend with the release of new Pixel phones. In the year 2017, the Pixel 2 was also generally accepted to be the best smartphone Camara right up to 2018 last year when the Pixel 3 and 3 XL were released. Now in 2019, the Pixel 3 and 3 XL are still a though phone Camara to beat, even in a world where Huawei P30 and Samsung’s Galaxy S10 do exist.

What does this have to do with potential Pixel 3a buyers? Well, you are getting the same Camara hardware and identical software magic that the Pixel 3 and 3 XL uses. What that means is with 300 U.S dollars, your smartphone Camara will be equal or better than other 1000 U.S dollars or more smartphones. Let’s let that sink in for a bit.

Here are 4 Camera features the Pixel 3a is getting from the Pixel 3

  • Night Sight: With Night Sight, you will almost never want to use a flash to take pictures in the dark. Night Sight takes multiple pictures and combines them into one to create a well lit and colorful picture even in the darkest of scenarios.
  • Portrait Mode: Just like most flagship nowadays, get your perfect shot while blurring everything else in the background to increase Pixels and sharpness on Foreground. Unlike most flagship though the Pixel 3a selfie, Camara also supports Portrait Mode.
  • Pop Color: You can also increase or decrease the blurriness of Portrait shot and also the color. That’s right, with Pop Color you can set the background to black-and-white while increasing foreground color for extra style.
  • Super Res Zoom: Zoom in on your target while still maintaining a high degree of Resolution in the photo quality.

As mention earlier, most Mid-range phones comes with – killer specs – and with compromise everywhere else. Google, on the other hand, is walking a deferent path. Google is giving you a premium smartphone with the specs you need. Ask yourself, Do you really need a Snapdragon 855? Couple with 12gb of Ram? As long as you are not an addicted PUBG/FORTNITE player, the answer is general NO.

Pixel 3a and 3a XL come with Snapdragon 670 together with 4gb of Ram. These are more than capable of carrying out your daily activities. Including playing PUBG and Fortnite at medium setting.

Also, they come with the best point-and-shoot Camera with insane Pixel quality, sharpness and color reproduction.

The Pixel 3 also comes with good build quality, 3 years of fast software support, a fingerprint reader and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
