Capcom is working on another part of the Resident Evil series. Koshi Nakanishi, most recently responsible for Resident Evil 7, announced this in a livestream. After part 7, he found it very difficult to figure out how to continue, but he now has a ” substantial” approach.
A new core part or an offshoot?
This could mean the next title will be another one from the core series, not another spin-off. However, this is pure speculation, as Capcom has not yet revealed any more information.
We’re making a new Resident Evil. It was really difficult to figure out what to do after 7. But I found it, and to be honest it feels substantial. I can’t share any details just yet but I hope you’re excited for the day I can.

This also applies to date and the name, which the publisher has chosen from time to time, straightforwardly, but recently also in a very unusual way with the Roman eight (VIII) hidden in Resident Evil Villa (test). In addition to the eight numbered parts of the series to date, Resident Evil Code: Veronica and Resident Evil Zero are also among the main parts of the series.

The last part is three years old.
Resident Evil Village was released three years ago and received mostly positive reviews. The first few hours, in particular, were highly praised in places, but the title fell off towards the end. After Resident Evil Village, the remake of Resident Evil 4 (test) was released in 2023 and was enthusiastically celebrated.
